Coming to a Major On-Line Retailer Near You!

The publication date is set!

March 28 will be the launch date for the third book in the Norsemen Saga:

The Lord of Vík-ló

Having recovered from the wounds of battle, and having won for himself a fortune, a crew, and a longship, Thorgrim Night Wolf makes ready to leave the Viking town of Dubh-linn for the long journey back to his home in Norway. But the gods have other plans, and Thorgrim and his men wash up in the small Viking longphort of Vík-ló. Thinking themselves among friends, they soon learn that the opposite is true, that Grimarr Giant, the Lord of Vík-ló, has reason to want Thorgrim and his son Harald dead. In a world where they cannot tell friend from foe, a world of violence at sea and on land, Thorgrim, Harald, Ornolf, Starri and their band of Norsemen find themselves once again fighting not just for plunder, but for their very survival.

"James L. Nelson's Viking Sagas are a tour de force of tautly crafted twists, turns full of authentic detail, and plots that drive you to the finish!"

    1. Yeah, I'm not doing the pre-order thing. For various technical reasons it works better on Amazon to have wait until the book is actually out. Also, I changed the pub date to March 28. I realized I didn't have my act well enough together.

    2. Got it, thanks. I work at a library and was looking to get it ordered. Your others have been VERY popular with our patrons as well as myself. I will wait as patiently as I can then. :)

  2. I just happened to check your website today, curious to see if work had begun on the next Norseman Saga book. I'm ecstatic to see it's available tomorrow! I've read all of Bernard Cornewell's books, Robert Low's Oathsworn Series, the Raven Series by Giles Kristian and your first two Norseman Saga books. I think that you and Robert Low have done the best job so far. I really appreciate your focus on the Norse-Irish setting as it's one of the more interesting yet untapped arenas of the Viking Age. Being half Irish and half Scandinavian I find it doubly compelling! I'll be sure to let others know that Vik-lo is coming out tomorrow. Many like-minded people who play this PC game (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,373.0.html) also read Viking-Age historical fiction. I'll post something on the forum and hopefully inspire others to try out your series. I look forward to catching up with Thorgrim tomorrow!

I'll be waiting for the 4th installment, in the mean time I picked up The Only Life That Mattered which I totally enjoyed, thinking about the 3 part Pirate series while I wait for the 4th of the Viking series..thanks for sharing your gift and helping with my escape to another world in my mind!

  4. Congratulations on the next release of your book. I'm a historical fiction author as well. I found your blog via blogger blog hopping. Your books sound very interesting. I studied some about the Norse invasion of Ireland when I was conducting research for my book Bailey's Revenge. Very interesting history.

  8. Just noticed your Viking Saga books are all available on Kindle Unlimited. Do you think you'll ever make your Revolution at Sea series available on ebook? As I get older I get more and more allergic to physical books. Not sure if it's the molds or the ink, but it is an ironic problem for an author to have. Hopefully, you can convince your publisher. All the best!
